Cougar Town painting

I recently caught a few episodes of Cougar Town and I have fallen in love with a painting on the set. Does anybody else get distracted by the decor when watching TV shows or films? I do. I know its sad but I can’t help it. Maybe there is a support group?

Here are some pics of the painting. Unfortunately I couldn’t find a good picture with the full painting but you get the idea. From what I can gather its an old painting by an unknown artist. Very sad. Does anyone know of an artist that has a similar style?

    I’m the set decorator on COUGAR TOWn. The painting is from the 70’s, unsigned by the artist and is rented from Omega Cinema Props in hollywood.

      Hi Emily, Her sheets and coverlet are from Crate and Barrel and the pictures behind her bed are from Bed, Bath and Beyond.

    I think I found the artist! The painting in cougar town over the couch always reminds me of a painting my mom has- google image tadashi asoma lily pond in summer. 🙂

    No, it is similar to the Asoma, but not quite the same. I think I know the artist, but for the life of me I can’t remember his name.

    The other painting (the blue-green one) to the left I am pretty sure is byan artist named Simon Gaon from NYC.

    My mother has the exact painting (so it must be a copy or vice versa), that she purchased years ago in California. I love it too and have begging for it from her. She bought it in the 70s. So wild, eh? I’ve been looking to see if there was a copy of it for sale somewhere.

    I am obsessed with Jules’ living room. I have gotten the chair fabric $$$$$$ The sofa color fabric ( not the exact one) And the barstools in the kitchen, having some look alike pillows made. I found a painting that looks good but it is not the same. I wish I could find that print. I think I am going to get the Tadashi Asoma……water lilies

    The painting over the sofa in “Cougar Town” is by Tadashi Asoma.
    We have represented his work for over 40 years now. He is 88 years and still painting! We have the largest inventory of his work. Please contact me for more information.
