Flooring

I love vibrant colours so I might change the cushions for some brightly coloured ones but I would not be too upset if this was my living room. Love the grey and white striped rug and what is not to like about that sofa. And love the wooden stools and the buttery leather butterfly chair with the sheepskin. And …. the crocheted footstool and….

Pic from here.

From New York city to a sweet little cottage in Sweden.

I am so digging the raw look of the wooden floor boards. Much easier to look after than white floor boards.

Thanks to the wonderful Elaine for Jaboopee and her fabulous house tour I discovered that House and Home have a new website.

Its full of local yumminess! Lots of house tours and makeovers and a sneak peek at the latest issue. Check it out here.

Pics of Elaine’s living room and master bedroom.

Eimear and Marty’s colourful living and dining room.

And Eva’s bathroom makeover

I know Gary Spain’s beautiful interiors have already done the rounds but I just can’t stop drooling over them. I love the stripes,  the vibrant pops of colours,  the textiles, the art, the retro wallpaper and the way he mixes styles with absolute ease!

It’s my last day. 😦 I am very sad to leave Paris. Some lovely pics coming up soon once I go through the photos on my camera. I managed a visit to the wonderful shop Merci. I got a little over excited and only left with some tape and a stamp? But D got some lovely shots of the store while I drooled over everything. Coming soon. Here is the shot I took on my phone.

Here is a view I don’t see very often from my office window. Blue Skies!!!!!!! Oh it is way too sunny to be inside.

But I would much rather be here – in Stephens Green in town.

And today I am mostly liking Sanderson’s Etchings and Roses rug.

We were delighted when our landlord decided to renovate the bathroom, especially since my family will be here next week! Now I wasn’t on hand to ‘direct’ the design when it came to the tiles but I was pretty happy they went with white tiles for the wall and grey tiles for the floor. Plus we now have a glass screen so no more clingy shower curtains! Here is how it looks at the moment after some finishing touches by moi. (You can click here to see what it looked like before the makeover).

A friend just sent me a link to this house and I fell instantly in love with the interior. Oh and the house is lovely too. Here is what I love about this house and the interior design. I love the subway tiles in the bathroom and the bathroom has a window (I really want a bathroom with a window – not too much to ask for is it?). I love the walled garden. I love their furniture and lighting – the owners are in the movie biz and their furniture is a collection of movie props!. I love the dining room – loads of natural light and they have a dining room (I really want a dining room separate from the living room). I love the paint colour on the walls in the main bedroom, the fireplace, the light wooden floors and the french doors! They tell you to ignore the decor when buying a house because its the easiest thing to change but seriously their decor is too beautiful to ignore or change! Its a little over my budget but definitely worth filing for future inspiration.

Oh and I really want that jewellery stand too. I believe its from Ikea and I would almost travel all the way to Belfast just to pick one up!

I challenge you not to find at least four rugs you want from The Rug Seller’s online shop. They have so many rugs its ridiculous but also very fabulous. I would love a huge big rug for the lounge room – below are just four of my top ten.
