Sorry for not posting yesterday but I had a small case of the Monday blues. But today I diggin the blues. I just love dark blue walls and white decor together.

Thanks to the wonderful Elaine for Jaboopee and her fabulous house tour I discovered that House and Home have a new website.

Its full of local yumminess! Lots of house tours and makeovers and a sneak peek at the latest issue. Check it out here.

I am in the process of making covers for my armchair cushions and let me tell you I am not enjoying it one bit!

For some reason I have choosen a fabric that requires extra effort to line up due to the pattern. Then to make matters worse I decided to go with piping!

Now I spent several hours last night cutting, aligning, swearing, stitching, un-stitching, re-cutting and its no where near finished! And I ran out of piping so I can’t finish it until I get some more! And I don’t have a zipper foot for my sewing machine as it is a cheap brand from Littlewoods!

Well I think the running out of piping might just be a blessing in disguise as I think (time will tell) I found an easier way thanks to the Easy Peasy DIY piping tut on the Little Snoring blog.

Now if you are crazy enough here is a tutorial for covering a whole sofa. I am following part of it for the cushions (except the piping bit).

Black paint really is amazing. You can make a room go from bland to … hmmm what rhythms with bland and means beautiful?

Umm… damn! I should have thought this through. Anyway here are some pretty pictures.

And this bedroom makeover makes me want to run out and buy some black paint. (from Diversion Project)

Thats beaded people not bearded chandelier. That would be just weird.

Now I think this DIY is a must for you lucky people who have gardens. Perfect for sipping some cheap bubbly under.

Happy Friday everyone! I love how on a sunny day in Ireland you feel like its the start of your holidays, especially on a¬† Friday. They are so far and few between here. So to celebrate I am having a party in my garden. Well I don’t really have a garden but when I do I want a spread like this from Eat Drink Chic’s wedding.

This bedroom looks so sunny and welcoming. I think the only thing that would get me out of this bedroom is the sound of crashing waves on the beach and squawking seagulls. Oh I can feel the sea breeze now. Come on summer!

Well you all know about my red lounger calling it a day. Now I love Ikea but not when their furniture breaks after only a year! Anyway I scoured gumtree for a couple of days and found two tan leather armchairs. So I rang the guy and said I will take them without even seeing them in person. Sometimes I am a little impatient which is not good when buying things online. The chairs arrived and I was worried I had a mistake at first but after a bit of cleaning and disposing of the seat cushions I felt a lot better about them. We had foam cut to fit the chairs so all that is left to do is decide on the material for the cushion covers. Maybe a zebra print? D is not happy about that option so maybe not.
