Most of the (well all of the) properties on Haven In Paris, a luxury holiday rental website, are out of my price range. But that doesn’t stop me from drooling over the apartments all the same. I really love the two bedrooms below. I would sleep soundly in either one. Both rooms are part of a lovely 3 bedroom apartment in the heart of the art and antique district in Paris. Ooh la la
Today I am going to pretend I am a successful designer and I will be taking the winter off to recuperate before my next collection. This is where I will be staying if you need to contact me. But only if it’s an emergency or you want to pop in for a cup of tea and homemade scones with lashings of jam and fresh cream.
Or maybe here? Where we can sip the finest red wine, eating italian cuisine and listening to the water lapping on the shore.

Wow – Ab Chao is the makeover queen! I absolutley loved the stunning makeover she did for her daughter’s room but this one tops that by a million trillion miles.
Welcome to my new gaff. You might be confused because previously I have stated I live in an apartment in Dublin but that was a lie. Really I live here and I was keeping it a secret whilst renovating. Yes, yes I know how could I hide such a beautiful home but it was necessary. Even the people who live there now don’t know its my house.

First up I am sorry but I can’t remember which blog I was on that lead me to discover Kate Hume but Thank You, Thank You, Thank You! I love the warm neutral interior Kate designed for her client’s Amsterdam Town House. It is the height of grown up cool! When I win the euro millions on Friday night I am definitely going to hire Kate to decorate my home.
I am still not totally convinced by pale blue on walls. It just doesn’t look cozy enough for me. I get a little shiver just looking at this room. Although I love the mix of styles in this room. And I do like that turquoise lamp in the background and I would love two big old armchairs to curl up in next to a roaring fire.
We didn’t really take a summer holiday due to the usual reasons but I am sick of penny pinching and I want a break! I am currently toying with the idea of 3 nights in Amsterdam. I checked out the hotels the lovely Danielle from The Style Files suggested in her Amsterdam city guide – there are some very cool designer hotels in there. I would have no problem staying in any one of them. But now I am thinking how lovely it would be to stay in a houseboat! If anyone has stayed in a houseboat before I would love to hear about it.

Mermaid Isle ticks so many boxes on my dream home list – close to the water, plenty of windows to take in the stunning views, warm interiors, hot tubs outside and a little cottage for my guests and family.
